Grad Cards

Here are the grad cards that I made this year.
I used my Silhouette to cut out this guy
(and some girls), the stars are punched out.
The letters are tiny alpha &
vintage typewriter stickers.

Grandson's 1st Birthday

I love the Echo Park Boys Will Be Boys line!
I used my Unity co-branded stamps
on the inside of the card.
Couldn't resist using some twine.
I finally ordered some of every color
from The Twinery.
LOVE the stuff!

Back to Card Making!

Wow, talk about a crazy busy week!
My sister, nephew and 2 bils were here
for about a week to help move my parents
from their acreage into a retirement condo.
They are 81 & 78 so this isn't the
 first time they've "retired"!
Anyway, it is great to be back to having
a few spare minutes to create!
I made this card for a CAS challenge
to use heat embossing over at
Simply Scrapping Crafts.
 I'm also entering it into
These 3 stamps were all in the 100 random stamps
that I won a couple weeks ago from Unity.

Chevron Challenge & Mixed Media Fun for FWF

Moxie Fab World has a challenge
 to use a chevron...

I had this chevron in my Silhouette library.
I confess it was a freebie and I
didn't think I'd ever use it.
AND....
my parents had all their slides put on DVDs
so I have access to TONS of old slides!
My DH said, "why don't you
use them on cards?"

 I thought
it went great with this sentiment,
which was an unused stamp for me.
I don't know what set it is from
because I just got it with the 100
stamps that I won from the
Tweet Challenge!!!!!
(Thanks so much Unity!)

That makes this card work for the

MS pewter cs, Amy Butler dp, MME black paper
Unity stamp
the Paper Studio flower, s.e.i. brad
EK Jolee's boutique silver flowers

Here is my Mixed Media project.
These are our grand daughters a year ago.
This is a 4 x 6 canvas and this was
F.U.N.!!!

Because there are a lot of details
I'm not going to list them here.
You can check them out in my SCS gallery .
Stamps:
Bella Fiori, It's A Good Day,
ippity Fall For You,
Pocket Full of...KOM

I think their little brother should
have a canvas all his own.
I have an idea for his birthday
coming up on June 4......

Have a great time looking through
all the UNITY FWF posts
and have a great weekend!!

FWF Finally!

Welcome to another Unity FWF Friday!
I made these cards for the
embossing challenge over at
My Unity Place HERE
I cut the onesie out with my Silhouette
and stamped it with the love journal strip
from ippity's Because of You set.

I got new stamps in the mail this week-
itty bitty It's a Good Day
LOVE this one!
It looks just like the tricycle
I had as a very little kid!
This will make a great birthday
card for a little boy:

I did all tone on tone on this one.
Archival Cobalt brushed on, then stamped on.
Same with the ColorBox canary & red.
I stamped the tricycle & sentiment with
Stampabilities white and then
embossed with ZING white.
The star is from Stitched Greetings.
Dots for Sure are {ippity}.
BB kraft & Ranger clear e.p.

Check out all the details for

the silver Stickles on the moon and
the ribbon (from my stash).

Unity's Happy Everything
and ippity's Fall For You.

Happy Mother's Day!!

I've had a great day, got to scrap & stamp this afternoon.  Here is my entry for Unity's Recipe Page.  You can check out the details on the Unity blog HERE.   The prize for this challenge is $200 worth of Unity stamps! I used one of my favorite holiday recipes: Holiday Party Mix so went with a Christmas themed page.

Here is a picture of the recipe card outside of the pocket.
The directions are on the back side.

And a little bit of the popped up elements: the tree,
the pocket and the picture of the goodies.
I zig-zagged around the edges of the
 center panel and the pocket.
The little holly sprigs are all paper-pieced and the
ones on the kraft were heat-embossed
before I cut them out.
The berries are colored with Copic R89.

Paper: BB kraft; BG Wassail
Stamps: Ippity Season of Joy & Kissmas & Mistletoe
Ink: Ranger Cranberry, Memento tuxedo black,
Ranger clear embossing powder
Ribbon: Holiday Time
Copic: R89

Happy May FWF!

My daffodils are BLOOMING,
SPRING is finally here in MN!
We've been planting corn all week.

After that little news flash,
it is time for FWF!!
Check out the UNITY BLOG for all the details
and the blogs of everyone playing along.

I made this card for a monochromatic,
CAS challenge over at SSC a couple
weeks ago and forgot to share it here!

My favorite uncle passed away
the day before Easter
so I made this for my aunt and her family.

I used Unity's With Sympathy set.
The ribbon is a handle from an Ann Taylor Loft bag.
The "pp" is packaging from something I bought
at Office Max!
I stamped the sentiment with Memories black
and embossed it with Ranger clear e.p.
I made the bow with my homemade
cardboard "bow-easy".

My second card(s) for today are a lot happier
than that first card!  What is more
fun than baby cards?!

My dd saw a card
somewhere with a similar image
and sentiment as these cards.
After I made them,
 they just seemed too plain.

 I saw a tutorial
link on Emily's blog for
Make it Monday #12 Line Frame 101
and thought it was just the thing
for these simple cards.

So what do you think...
one line or two?

I personally like the double line frame better.

It was designed by Nana Vic whose
 store you should check out!

The ribbon is from my stash
so this card is also good for the

One Card, 2 Challenges

Wow, someone told me
Mother's Day is next Sunday,
guess I've been asleep or something!

I made this card today for my MIL
and it fits 2 challenges:
 the new Unity KOTM sketch
challenge which is HERE
The challenge requires
that I use a Unity Kit of the Month.
I went back to my very first
set, April 2009's fresh beginnings.

The second challenge this fits is the
All Things Unity Challenge # 30, HERE.

For this one, I had to use texture of some kind.
I used a couple pieces of Amy Butler paper
that come covered with glitter.
I also embossed the black butterflies and
the sides of the pink panel.

Gift Tag to go inside, used masking technique:

The butterfly was cut with my Silhouette.
The ribbon is from JoAnn's and the
cs is from HL, MS and Wausau Paper.
The button is from my stash and I
used a MS edge punch for the scallops.
