FWF & Julie's Blogoversary Hop

Today is a double fun day...
WELCOME to Unity's FWF &
 to Julie's Hop,
"Celebrating Friendship"!

We've become
fast friends through this great
online community of Unity
cardmakers! I was tickled pink when
she asked if I would help her
celebrate her blogoversary!!
Love her Phyllis Harris creations
with Golden Retrievers & her heart
of gold towards her care center
clients.  She even keeps
encouraging DH & I since FIL
fell and broke his hip a month ago!
Now THAT'S a friendship
worth celebrating!!

 Be sure to leave
comments as Unity has 2 prizes
to give away and Julie is also doing
random drawings for prizes!!
I've posted a bunch of pictures
to do this double day justice
so off you go to scroll through them!

Here is a project I cut
on my Silhouette for my
4 year old niece's birthday.

I didn't tape the sides as I had
to mail it flat.  I put the greeting on
the inside and her mom can remove
the liner from the adhesive and
stick it together for her.
(Forgot to take the pic before
I signed the card!)

Prima flowers, Itty Bitty Balloons to You,
Paper Studio paper & brad,
Studio g glitter glue & Ranger Stickles.

Can you stand one more
Silhouette project?

I made their sister one earlier so now
they each have one. 3-8 x 10 canvases
Cut the vinyl, stick it down, spray paint, peel it off!

And here is that card for the
Unity sketch challenge I promised
2 weeks ago and totally forgot
 to use last week!

Crafting By Designs Patriotic Blog Hop & FWF

Welcome to a
Patriotic Blog Hop from
Crafting By Designs
and this is also my post for
 Unity's FWF Friday.
You can find out about the 1st
Anniversary celebration details
 and the Blog Hop
and should have come from
Margaret's Cats and Cards.
I am the last stop on the Hop.

The challenge for this Hop is
to use the colors of my flag.

Stamps are from Sending My Love set

Here is the birthday gift
I made for our 6-year old
granddaughter:

I saw this project on the
Silhouette blog and fell
in love with the idea!!
I designed and cut Ellie's name
out on my Silhouette,
divided it into 3 sections
and stuck each one onto
an 8" x 10" canvas.
(I bought them in a 3-pack
at WalMart for a few dollars.)

I used red spray paint and
after it dried Ellie helped me
peel the letters off, leaving the
her name in white.
This was a fun, easy project!

Thanks for stopping by
& have a blessed weekend!

Flashback Friday 20.0

Looking back at projects I made
way back when is always fun!!
Challenge is to find your
first black & white card.

I found three projects
that feature black & white.
The last one was the only
one I could think of at first
but I found 2 older ones.

Looks like my first
black & white card was from
December 13, 2009.
It was for 3 challenges
You can read about it HERE.

This one is from Jan. 1, 2010.

This one is from Oct. 28th, 2010.

The challenge goes until
February 24th so be sure
to join in on the blog hop
and the challenge.
Thanks for stopping by!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Just want to wish everyone
a great, blessed year in 2012!!
DD1 and I were able to put up
some wall words, etc. in her
office yesterday.
I cut the words on my Silhouette.
The whole arrangement
measures about 4' x 5'.

She knew what she wanted,
I just had to cut out the
Scripture verse!

This should dress up her office
quite nicely!

HCBC Day 8 Distress Inks & Resist Embossing

Here is another card I made
I wanted to try resist embossing
with Distress Inks.

I got my new Distress Inks
in the mail yesterday and
I love these shades of blue:
 Chipped Sapphire and Stormy Sky.
After embossing the
Aged Sheet Music from CHF
onto the watercolor paper I applied
Chipped Sapphire and Stormy Sky
with an inking tool and then misted it with
Perfect Pearls.  LOVE the shine!!

It is just so hard to get a
good photo of the shine.....

I learned to use DI to
edge white paper in
order to have a perfect match.
I edged both matts with Stormy Sky.
I cut the snowflake on my Silhouette,
 coated it with VersaMark,
 embossed it with silver e.p.
and added some rhinestones.
The trim is from the Paper Studio.

The stamp is from Iron Orchid Designs
Unity Stamp Company.

HCBC Day 5-Card 3

I got my Perfect Pearls and
mini mister in the mail today.
So I finally finished this card
for Day 5 and I'm happy
with how it turned out.
The whole front is shimmery,
hard to photogragh!

The sentiment is computer generated.
The star and Rejoice were cut on my Silhouette.
DI include Evergreen Bough,
Iced Spruce & Crushed Olive.
I am also using Glossy Accents
for attaching these embellishments
and I really, really like how it works!

Dear Hubby's Birthday Card

The 24th is my dh's birthday...
and my dad's birthday.
One will be 49, the other 81.

I have my card for dh finished as of today.
Still trying to get inspired for my dad's!

DH is extremely mechanical.
 He has been making and
fixing things since he was a kid.

Now he not only farms
but restores antique tractors.
Like, early 1900s tractors.
He is a craftsman at what he does.
(Just had to brag on him!!)
I'm so proud of him!

The image is an Eric Dull freebie

Lots of Copics

Thankful for FWF!

Welcome to this (almost) Thanksgiving Friends With Flair!! Time sure flies when we are having fun, doesn't it??!! Check out Unity's blog for the list of everyone playing along today.
I am sharing a couple Christmas cards I made for the {ippity} challenges this week. Did you get to see the great new releases? Lots of amazing new stamps to long for! My first card is for the 3 stamps/3 layers challenge.  I used Stickles for "lights" & "garland" on the house.  If you look closely, you can see the little Christmas tree in the window of the house!
This second card is for the no red/green Christmas card challenge.  Isn't it great how the Silhouette snowflakes match this Paper Studio paper?!  I used lots of jewels and Stickles to make it shine.  For all the details on both cards you can stop by my SCS gallery HERE.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful, grateful for blessings, Thanksgiving Day!

Happy to Share with FWF!!

Hello, fellow Unity blog hoppers!! I'm so happy to be less busy and able to take part in Friends With Flair again!! We were busy with harvest and then my dad was in the hospital for a couple days. Happy to say he is home and doing fine again.
My first card is for Rachel's "recipe" Unity Addicts Challenge. My initials dictated that I use black & white, ribbon and one layer. I tried the extra wax resist technique and just couldn't get it to work right so went with a "plain jane" card:
Paper Studio white cs, Unity's It's Your Day sentiment, Silhouette cake, Palette noir ink,
and ribbon & black cs from my stash.

My second card was inspired by the chatting on SCS yesterday.  We were talking about Silhouettes and Cricuts and stamp-edged cutouts.  I decided to buy a set from Silhouette but when I clicked on it, it turned out to be free!  What fun and so I used it on my card today.

Stamps are Unity's Jesus is the Reason and Merry & Bright Winter Wishes.
I stamped the snowflakes on the kraft Paper Studio cs.  MS geranium cs & Paper Co. ivory cs.
The ink is all Memento rich cocoa, ribbon is Offray, coloring done with Copics.

That's all for this week, be sure to go to Angela's/Unity's Blog for the entire list of everyone playing along this week.  And don't forget to watch for the blinkie, who wouldn't want a chance at 25 Unity stamps???!!!!
