HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Just want to wish everyone
a great, blessed year in 2012!!
DD1 and I were able to put up
some wall words, etc. in her
office yesterday.
I cut the words on my Silhouette.
The whole arrangement
measures about 4' x 5'.

She knew what she wanted,
I just had to cut out the
Scripture verse!

This should dress up her office
quite nicely!

Last FWF for 2011!!

Can you believe we are looking at the
end of 2011?  Seems like the year
just began!  I am eager to see
what 2012 holds.

Today is another Friends With Flair
day from Unity.  Check out the list of
all who are playing along HERE.
Prizes to be won!!

I have to post these two cards together
because the second one wouldn't have
happened without the first one!

Distressed Dots VersaMarked
OA Farmhouse dp, TH tissue tape
I love how the doily stamp matches the paper!!

I was dying the ribbon for this card
with Distress Ink Stormy Sky ink pad.
I decided to "swipe" some cs
through the DI left on the plastic
I had pearl misted the ribbon on.
I accidently dropped the ribbon
on top of the cs after I had it
all swirled with ink.  All I could
do to salvage the process
 was keep laying my ribbon
randomly across the paper.
That is how I got the middle
 panel for this card.

I love serendipity!!
Here's wishing you a wonderful,
blessed 2012!

today for the ippity challenge
which you can see HERE.

I used the word &

& the frame from the

I am having fun playing
with my new Spellbinders
and Distress Inks!

Merry Christmas FWF

Here we are just two days before
Christmas!!  I want to wish everyone
a blessed holiday season.
Remember the true reason
we celebrate is that Jesus, the
Holy Son of God came to this
earth as a baby to live, die
and live again to pay for our sins.
This all makes it possible for us to
be in a right relationship with God!!
I, for one, am glad and grateful
for salvation!!

Now on to the Unity FWF Hop.
I have two projects to share today.
This one is an envelope I
designed for a gift certificate.
It works for the
The tag has two Unity stamps on it.

This is for the KOTM Sketch Challenge.
I used three stamps from
The paper is my new
October Afternoon's Farmhouse...love it!
I VersaMarked and clear embossed
the number panel on my MS cs
then used the "ALWAYS" stamp for
my sentiment background.

Merry Christmas and have
a great weekend with those you love!!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Welcome to a December FWF
celebrating this wonderful season
of the year!  Check out everyone
linking up today over at

My first two cards both
use stamps from
ippity's Season of Joy.
Ippity has a Free For All challenge on
right now, check it out HERE

I love these glittery papers,
 they didn't need much to
make them into happy cards!

My last card uses a sentiment
I dry embossed and then sanded
the green cardstock.

That is all from me this week.
I need to stop making
Christmas cards and get on to
some others.
Have a great weekend!!

FWF for December 9th

Welcome to the Unity FWF Hop
You can find all the details on
the Unity Blog HERE.
I had to stop making
Christmas cards and make
a couple birthdays for two dear bils!

I used a thinned-Gesso wash on some
Graphic 45 A Proper Gentleman papers.
Misted them with Perfect Pearls.
Stamps on both cards are from

Ok, going to post one Christmas card.
You can probably guess I
got a ribbon banner die set
in the mail this week!

The sentiment is from

That's it from me this week.  Have
fun getting ready for Christmas!!

Dec. 2 FWF

Welcome to Unity's
Friends With Flair Friday.
You can find out who is playing
along at the Unity blog HERE.

I cased this first card from one I
 saw on Kristina Werner's BLOG.
She was using the Seasonal
Distress Ink Iced Spruce and
I love the tone on tone effect.
The sentiment is from Ippity's

The wreath was cut on my Silhouette
and I added Glossy Accents to the
 Festive Berries DI berries.
The rest of the wreath
is covered with Tulip glitter glue.
Maraschino twine.

I had to get some gifts in the
mail today so quickly made these
tags to match the pattern of the
wrapping paper.

The background stamp
is from a KOTM,
The sentiment and ornament
are from Christmas Bough.
I used DIs: Antique Linen,
Peeled Paint, Festive Berries.
Archival Galaxy Gold
The red cord is from Ikea.

Hope you are enjoying
these days leading up to
Christmas when we celebrate
the best gift the earth
ever saw...Jesus Christ!!

Unity's Let It Snow Challenge

I've had most of these parts
laying on my table for awhile now.
Today I pulled them together.
Embossed a Silhouette snowflake with
ZING gold ep, topped with
a Paper Studio pearl and
turned it all into this card
for Unity's monthly challenge.
You can check out

I stamped Unity's Bright & Merry Winter Wishes
snowflake with Archival Galaxy Gold
onto the dk. green HL cs.
The ribbon is from my stash as is
the red metallic floss.
The scalloped circle is cut
from some pp, don't know the name.
I used the journal block from Unity's
FAITH set (Vintage Photo DI)
and the sentiment from Season of Joy
(Festive Berries DI).

Thanksgiving FWF-Unity Hop

Happy Thanksgiving weekend, everyone!!
Finding time to hop along with everyone
today?  You can find the list of everyone
playing along today over at UNITY'S BLOG.

I heat embossed the train onto
watercolor paper and then I used
DIs, Stormy Sky & Chipped Sapphire,
 misted with Perfect Pearls.

I used Echo Park papers &
stickers and Unity's co-branded
stamp set Boys Will Be Boys.
Brads are k i memories Heirloom.
I added gel pen stitching around the
sentiment and three colors of
baker's twine, maraschino, pea pod,
and lemondrop.

Here is a Christmas card that
uses the same distress ink technique.
I used the stamp from IOD's

The snowflake was cut on my Silhouette
and heat embossed with silver Ranger ep.

And my fil happened to celebrate
his birthday on Thursday so I made
him this card:

The journal block and verse
are both from the Faith set.
I like to use this journal block
on the inside of my cards,
it makes a nice faint background
for any sentiment.

Hope you are having
a great holiday weekend
giving thanks with family
and/or friends!!

Folded Trees

On Day 2 of Holiday Card Boot Camp
we were taught how to fold these
adorable little trees from a half-circle.
I used Basic Grey's Wassail paper
and used ink to paper to color
the back side with two shades
of green Distress Inks.

Because I used Basic Grey papers,
I am entering this into the
Stop & Scrap Challenge that
you can see HERE at
La Vikingas Scrap.

The green paper is embossed with
my evergreen folder, added some DI
to that, too, and the angel
is a Unity stamp dressed up
with some Stickles.

HCBC Day 8 Distress Inks & Resist Embossing

Here is another card I made
I wanted to try resist embossing
with Distress Inks.

I got my new Distress Inks
in the mail yesterday and
I love these shades of blue:
 Chipped Sapphire and Stormy Sky.
After embossing the
Aged Sheet Music from CHF
onto the watercolor paper I applied
Chipped Sapphire and Stormy Sky
with an inking tool and then misted it with
Perfect Pearls.  LOVE the shine!!

It is just so hard to get a
good photo of the shine.....

I learned to use DI to
edge white paper in
order to have a perfect match.
I edged both matts with Stormy Sky.
I cut the snowflake on my Silhouette,
 coated it with VersaMark,
 embossed it with silver e.p.
and added some rhinestones.
The trim is from the Paper Studio.

The stamp is from Iron Orchid Designs
Unity Stamp Company.

HCBC Day 10-Card 2

Here is another "reproducible" card:

HL cs, BG Wassail dp, BB kraft
Sizzix BG Evergreen embossing folder
Nina Brackett's Lord of the Seasons tree stamp
Cornish Heritage Farms sentiment
Kaisercraft pearls I got in my order from
Simon Says Stamp.
studio  G glitter glue
silver Stickles

Holiday Card Boot Camp-Day 10

The theme for Day 10 at
Holiday Card Boot Camp
was reproducible cards.
I used my new embossing
folder on my cards.
It's fun, what can I say!

I made my card horizontal
and I think this sketch would
work better the other way.
The snowflake was cut
on my Silhouette.
Ippity Dots & PrintWorks sentiment
HL cs and s.e.i. pp
The little heart is from a
k i Memories
Heirloom collection.

FWF Fun With Friends!!

I spent the week creating
cards for the
classes.  What fun to
learn a bunch of new techniques!
Of course I used my Unity stamps
so I'm happy to share some of
these cards with you today
for FWF.
Check out the Unity Blog
for the list of everyone playing
along!

These two both use the itty bitty
I love this image, I used
it on all my cards last year.

My second card uses images from
the Faith set &

This gift card holder below

Thanks for stopping by
and have a great weekend.
Sounds like we might get
some SNOW here in MN!

Holiday Card Boot Camp-Day 9

The challenge at Boot Camp
today was to make
gift card holders.

HCBC Day 5-Card 3

I got my Perfect Pearls and
mini mister in the mail today.
So I finally finished this card
for Day 5 and I'm happy
with how it turned out.
The whole front is shimmery,
hard to photogragh!

The sentiment is computer generated.
The star and Rejoice were cut on my Silhouette.
DI include Evergreen Bough,
Iced Spruce & Crushed Olive.
I am also using Glossy Accents
for attaching these embellishments
and I really, really like how it works!

HCBC Day 7-Card 1

I love the white on
kraft card Jennifer
showed us on Day 7.
I usually don't have much
success with white inks
so I used VersaMark and
ZING white embossing powder
on my Clear Dollar
snowflake stamps.
I went with this tall sentiment.
I used two Distress Inks, Crushed Olive
& Evergreen, on white
cardstock to make paper for the
holly leaves. Stamped ippity Dots
with ColorBox olive pastel on top.
Copics on the tree with Stickle
star and red ornaments.
Colored some clear jewels
with Copics and glued
them all down with Glossy Accents.

HCBC Day 6 Card 3

I had a couple days of
real life stuff going on
so didn't get any
 Holiday Card Boot Camp
 cards made yesterday.
I used a sketch from
Day 6.

I cut lots of the pieces
on my Silhouette.
Glitter glue, Stickles,
Distress Inks
Petaloo Flower colored with Copics
Paper Studio pearls colored with Copics

Day 6 Card 2

I like the sketch from
the previous post
so made a second card
with just a bit more
color and details.

Used Unity's itty bitty Find the Joy again.
Added a text box from the
Unity Faith set and the
sentiment from {ippity}'s
Season of Joy.
Some BG Wassail paper
and cappuccino twine.

Holiday Card Boot Camp-Day 6

We have 3 awesome
sketches to inspire us
on Day 6 of the
Holiday Card Boot Camp!

Pretty CAS, just VersaMarked
the background, added the
Unity itty bitty "Find the Joy",
white gel pen around the edges
and tied the ribbon.

Boot Camp-Day 5-Card 2

I wanted to use a holiday theme
on my second card
but don't have a holiday
embossing folder for
my Big Shot yet.
I used a Fiskars texture
plate and embossed it by hand.
The snowflake is popped up.

s.e.i. letters & glitter strip
Bright & Merry Winter Wishes snowflake

Card Camp-Day 5

So last night I worked on
my Day 5 cards for
Holiday Card Boot Camp 2011.

I used two Distress Inks
on my first card.
Crushed Olive & Antique Linen
I don't have my new
distress inks,
perfect pearls or
embossing folders yet.
I will defiinitely
try this technique again
when I get my new supplies!

I do like the colors,
rather non-traditional!
The inside simply says
"Christmas" in the
same red letters.

November 11-Veteran's Day-FWF

First of all a huge
THANK YOU
to all those who are veterans
and who are currently
serving our country!!
May you be blessed
on this Veteran's Day.

Today is another
Friends With Flair day
sponsored by Unity Stamp Co.
Check out the details HERE
and see who is playing along!

Here are a couple Christmas cards.
This one is inspired by Kristina Werner's
It may be one of my
favorite Christmas cards!
The snowmen are from
Unity's KOM To the Moon & Back
Distressed Dots stamped with VersaMark
make up the bottom part of the card.
SU rub on snowflakes and sentiment.

I've been taking part in the
that started on Monday and goes
through the 21st.  You
can sign up any time, the info
is accessible forever!!

I'll share a couple cards I've made.
This one uses the branch stamp
from the {ippity} set Fall For You.

My photo card uses a sentiment from
and the tree from {ippity}'s

This picture is my dad and my grandson
from last Christmas!

And....I finally broke down
and bought a Big Shot
at my nearest big LSS,
in Sioux Falls, SD.

I also bought this
stamp/embossing folder combo.
LOVE IT!!
Okay, I might have a new
favorite!

The sentiment is from
Bright & Merry Winter Wishes.
The link for that set is above.
So there you go,
lots of fun taking

Have a great Veteran's Day
and weekend!!

Card Camp-Day 4

One of the cards
presented to us today at
was made on acetate.
I had an overhead transparency
in my file so thought I'd give it
a try.  I did find out I could
emboss on the rough side
but when I tried it on the
smooth side, I melted it
with my heat tool!

I used Cornish Heritage Farms
Aged Sheet Music
VersaMark &
Stampabilities white ink
ZING white embossing powder
Paper from my stash
Sentiment stamp didn't have a name on it.

Holiday Card Boot Camp-Day 3-Card 3

Yeah, I just couldn't stop.  If I
hadn't had to go away this evening
I think I would have had a roomful
of holly embossed cards!!

I had this image colored
so thought it would go great
on a holly themed card.

I think this is DCWV cs,
Sizzix embossing folder,
the image is by Daisy Doodles
colored with Copics,
maraschino twine,
postage stamp cut on my Silhouette,
jillibean soup journaling sprout.

Check out the

Holiday Card Boot Camp-Day 3-Card 2

This card is about the same as the one
in the earlier post only I
did not use any ink on the folder.
I added a tag instead, topped with
the ribbon, pearl and jingle bell!
The stamp is from Unity's
Bright & Merry Winter Wishes set.

I added Ruby Slippers Stickles
for the holly berries.
The tag is stamped with
the Aged Sheet Music that
I used inside my previous card.
I used Antique Linen
Distress Ink on the tag.

You can still sign up for
the Holiday Card Boot Camp 2011.
Lots of fun, but horribly
enabling!! :)

Holiday Card Boot Camp-Day 3

The tutorial for Day 3
of the Holiday Card Boot Camp
was how to stamp and emboss
on a card.  I fell in love with
the look of this and gave in
to the urge I've been having
for some time now to get
an embossing machine.
I grabbed a purple
Big Shot from my LSS and
they also had the very
same holly stamp and
embossing folder on hand.
I couldn't resist!!

So here is my copycat
card for day 3.
I used ColorBox olive pastel
to stamp the ivy and then
used Antique Linen Distress Ink
on the folder to get some
color on the lower
parts of the embossing.

These cards are literally the
first two pieces of paper I have
run through my Big Shot!

The star was left over from Monday's
inspiration so I popped it onto the
window, backed it with some
acetate and lightly stamped
Cornish Heritage Farms
Aged Sheet Music inside the card
with Distress Ink, Antique Linen.
