Make It Monday #233 Splatters

Papertrey Ink MIM Challenge

I love splatters, I can remember
"splatter painting" as a kid, we
used an old toothbrush and rubbed
our thumbs over the bristles.
Now that I''ve grown up, I use a
paint brush! ;)

I have two brothers-in-law with
birthdays in December so made these
masculine cards and added the splatters.

These are regular A2 cards, not sure
why the picture is distorted!
Supplies:
PTI Sketched Shapes & Balloon Bash sets
Ranger DI in these colors:
Chipped Sapphire, Hickory Smoke
Ground Espresso & Stormy Sky
SSS Black ink

MIM #201 Texture Paste & Stencils

So the Make it Monday Challenge
this week is to use a cover plate die
to make a stencil and then use
texture paste through the stencil.
I only own one cover plate so
had to use this one to take
part in the challenge.
I used Ranger Texture Paste
on top of a textured card stock.

I was surprised at how good this technique
worked with this intricate of a die cut.
I used the same die to cut the frame from
some old patterned paper.
I covered the paste with Rock Candy Stickles
when it was completely dry.  Also added some
coordinating jewels.

PTI Day 7 Foils and Neutrals

I'm just beginning to use
foils on my cards after seeing
Jennifer McGuire use some the
other day. I love how it looks so
I was glad to see today's challenge
from PTI which you can find HERE.

*EDITED*
And here is my card that actually
fits the neutral challenge!

I used foil tape for the strips, silver embossed
the banner from Sketched Shapes and then
used StazOn to stamp the sentiment from
Bigger Blooms. Lots of sequins to finish it off.*

I used the foil but missed the part
about using a neutral so after posting
this, I am going back to the drawing
board to make a card that actually fits
the challenge--haha! Unless blue is
considered a neutral!

Here you can see the shine of
the foil and the embossing.

I put VersaMark Ink
gently onto this PTI birthday coverplate die.
I ran it through my Big Shot using a silicone
embossing pad, added Platinum EP from
Ranger and was pleased with the results.

I also added VersaMark around the edges
of the image and dipped it into more EP
before layering it onto the card front.

When its all said and done, I have
a card for my SIL whose bday is
coming up in week or so.

PTI Day 5 Spring Into Action Challenge

Papertrey Ink's 8th Anniversary
celebration continues with a challenge
to use a stamp set that is new or has
been used very little.

I love this stamp
but it was bigger than I expected.
(When does THAT ever happen?!)
I guess the name should have been a
dead giveaway--Think Big Favorites #24!

Anyway, the stamp steals the show
on the front of a card!

I embossed the sentiment, water-colored over it,
added some black splatters and then
finished it with some twine and gems.

That's all folks!

PTI-Build a Bouquet Challenge

I am so enjoying these challenges
from PTI's 8th Anniversary Celebration!
The 4th challenge is to build a
bouquet. I've always had an interest
in floral design so this is a fun way
to make that happen on paper!

I used Bigger Blooms stamps and dies
and Sketched Shapes stamps. Love
both of these sets! Again, I added
Wink of Stella to the flowers and
finished the card off with some sequins.

The color is a little washed out, may
have to take another picture in daylight
tomorrow!

PTI Day 3- Bagged & Tagged

Happy 8th Anniversary to PTI!
Here is another challenge from
their celebration. We were to make a
matching Bag & Tag. My "bag" is
about as small as my tag, but good
things come  in small packages, right?!

I used Balloon Bash stamps and die
to create the tag.  The bag is a Silhouette file.
Had to add Wink of Stella to the stars & balloons.

PTI Challenge #2

Our second challenge for PTI's
8th Anniversary celebration is to go to
Maile Balles' blog and use something she
has made for our inspiration.
I chose this card:

I used Balloon Bash for the string and
tiny flower and Bigger Blooms for
the sentiment. I love how she uses
the space down the side and raises
the panel up for dimension.

Here are my takes on her card:

I like hers 10Xbetter!!!

PTI 8th Anniversary Day #1 Color/Sketch Challenge

Papertrey Ink is celebrating and having several
challenges. I chose this sketch and
color scheme for my card:

I'm lovin' my PTI stamps! I used Bigger Blooms
stamps and dies and Sketched Shapes for the
sentiments and banner. Enamel dots are by
Recollections and Wink of Stella on the flower.

PTI Make it Monday #200 Challenge

I've been AWOL for almost 4 months!
How can that be? I have been creating,
 just haven't been posting.
So I'm jumping in on this challenge
at PTI to layer cover plates die cuts.

I made a background with rainbow colors,
die cut the three ballons and inlaid solid
colored balloons, adding white gel pen patterns.
Some Wink of Stella on them, of course!

Next I cut three cover plate dies in gray,
black and green and layered them on my card.
More Wink of Stella on the green layer.
The last step was adding the sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!

from this set.
