SCS & SSIC

Okay, what do these stand for? SCS is Splitcoaststampers where I took part in a virtual stamp event (VSN Heart Health Challenge) Fri. & Sat.  We were to make a card with a red dress on it.  SSIC stands for Stampin' Sisters in Christ and that challenge, SSIC #78 calls for at least 3 buttons on a card.  The buttons symbolize things that secure, based on this Bible verse:
Scripture: Psalm 9:10 "Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you."

Final February FWF & HHSC #46

Happy Friday flipping through everyone's posts, enjoying the creativity!  You can check out the Unity blog HERE to find the list of everyone playing along today.  And keep an eye out for the blinkie, free stamps may come your way if you remember to leave a comment on that blog.
I have a couple projects that I worked on last night.  I bought my first tissue tape yesterday so had to try it out.  I put three strips across my paper, stamped the bird and embossed it.  This is also for the HHSC #46 which you can find HERE. This is one of those cards that didn't turn out the way I thought it would when the idea was in my head!  My dd did some highlighting on the sprigs of leaves on the left side of the card:
Stamps are from {ippity}'s Sing a New Song, paper is the Paper Studio textured cs,
Paper Company ivory cs, ribbon and burlap from stash, Tim Holtz Symphony tissue tape,
Ranger cobalt Archival ink, Memento black, Ranger clear embossing powder.

My next project is an altered calendar for the All Things Unity challenge.  I've had this calendar laying around since, yeah, the end of 2010, intending to alter it.  The mood never struck until last night after I picked up some paper at HL.  Here is the freebie from a local feed store:
And here it is now:

A close up of the top, click on the picture to see the whole width:

All the paper is MME: Simply Dottie, Brown Grid Dots, The Rouge Bird. I used 2 MS punches, one edge punch and the flower.  The stamp is from {ippity}'s Devoted set, the ribbon is from Michael's and my stash, the brad in the flower is BG, ink is Memento rich cocoa embossed with Ranger clear powder.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Altered Gift Bag for ATU #25

The All Things Unity challenge for this week (#25) is to alter something.  I've had this little gift bag laying around for years thinking I would cut it up to use the plastic.  Decided to try stamping on it instead.  I used Memories black dye ink, Unity Sentiments O'Simple and {ippity}Devoted sets.

Using Decorative Tape

This card is for the Get Daring with Decorative Tape Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
I used Unity Stamp Co. stamps, Bazzill Basics kraft cs, Graphic 45 Le Romantique papers, Basic Grey ribbon doilies tape, Memento tuxedo black ink and the Paper Studio pearls.

Flashback Friday 8.0

This Flashback Friday challenge is to post the first 3-D project we made.  My Sept. 16, 2009 post was for this iPod holder!  Not sure where I saw it but I remember the day I just spontaneously printed out the template and assembled this.  Seems like a very random thing to make.  I have never used it, I think I threw it away!  The paper is Amy Butler.
There you go...my flash from the past!

FWF Valentines

Welcome to this week's version of Unity's Friends With Flair.  Lots of fun creations to see along the way so go to Unity's Blog HERE for the entire list of everyone playing along this week.  One thing about this winter weather, it is great for staying inside and making cards!  I used the HHSC #44 sketch for my inspiration.

Paper: The Paper Company ivory cs, Graphic 45 Le Romantique
the Paper Studio pearls, Adornaments trim, RAK flower, stash cord

They'll be getting these in their campus mailboxes.  One of her classes will
be getting homemade cinnamon rolls on Monday if they do well on their test today!
The guys love the comfort food!!
