Sandy Allnock is an awesome teacher. I've enjoyed 

her videos on YouTube and her Copic Jumpstart class.
Her Hex Chart is such a helpful tool for seeing
and picking colors at a glance.

I'm planning to take another Copic class soon.
I'm trying to decide between the Autumn Scenes and
Winter Wonderland classes! Or maybe both?!

I used the SSS Card Kit large floral image

for this sympathy card. 

The sentiment is from the SSS

 Prayers stamp and die set.

I used Distress oxides on this card and

added some splatters to finish it off.

Friends of ours just celebrated their

50th anniversary. 

I heat embossed the image and

painted it in with Distress Oxide Inks.

 I used the October Card Kit for this one 

plus the SSS 1 Corinthians 13 background with

sticky embossing powder and red foil. There is

sparkle over the whole card!

I used round sponge daubers to color in

the flowers with Distress Inks. Very quick & easy

with a few SSS sequins to finish it off.

I used the SSS Poinsettia set for this card. 

(I made 4 of them at the same time.)

I  stamped on watercolor paper and used

 Distress Inks to color them.

There are those gorgeous SSS sequins again!

The sentiment is an old wood 

mounted stamp I had on hand.

The centers of the flowers are dotted

with Liquid Pearls.

I am glad it is too wet for

us to be in the field today!
 I got to make cards for once!!

I am loving the October SSS card kit!
Here are 2 alcohol ink cards I made.
No sentiments yet till I decide who
 they are blessing! I used some gold foil
on them before they were completely dry and

then used the alcohol lift ink pad that came in
 the kit to remove the floral stamp image.

One thing I learned.....make sure your

 stamp is CLEAN before you

use the lift ink pad and stamp with it.

WCMD #3

I saw a tutorial on making tissue paper backgrounds the

other day and was fascinated. Can't remember where it was.

You lay tissue paper into DIs and let it dry, crumple it, glue it

to cardstock and let it dry, gently rub VersaMark over the top of the

ridges and then heat emboss. I cut the leaves from the tissue paper

technique to use on this DOxI blended background.

I spritzed it with water and gold Distress spray before

embossing the sentiment onto vellum.

Lots of ink blending on this card for our son's birthday. 

DOxideI on the background and then painted the 

leaves with DIs. I spritzed it with water

and heat embossed it.

World Card Making Day-SSS

I was inspired by the SIMON SAYS STAMP post HERE

from the many different countries, specifically 

the card Scarlet made, representing China.

I used a Unity Stamp Co. stamp and Festive Berries DI

I used a water brush to fade out the middles of the circles.

I added a Christmas sticker to a square of vellum and added

a few sequins. The cards are 4 Bar sized from SSS.

CAS Mix Up Card Challenge

I ran across this CAS card challenge yesterday and

had to join in because mixed-media is so fun!

The challenge this month is to use stamping, smooshing

plus a technique of my choice.

I used stamping, smooshing, 

splattering, and heat embossing.

I masked off a square to smoosh in, added 

some splatters, dried the whole card and then 

stamped and heat embossed the image.

(I saw this layout somewhere the other

day and loved the look of it. Wish I could 

find it back to link to it.)

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

I've not played along with a Penny Black challenge before 

but I love their stamps and colored this one with my MISTI.

This is my first try at repeated stamping.

The challenge is to use bright & cheerful colors.

The tulip stamp is from the Blooming Garden set

and I colored them with ZIGs.
The sentiment is from Paper Smooches
Spiritual Sampler.
I used Tim Holtz's Dot Fade stencil for the background
and splattered the back panel with Black Soot DI.

I stamped it, colored it with Copics and then restamped with my

MISTI so I could clear heat emboss the lines.

Mix It Up Take Two!

I thought I'd make another card using 

Essentials by Ellen-Amazing Women and 

Penny Black while I had them out. 

This is a great challenge at 

The Classroom!

I used the white pencil highlighting 

technique that I saw Jennifer McGuire demonstrate

the other day. I stamped with Hero Arts Unicorn

white ink and used a PrismaColor pencil to add the shading.

I added the sentiment on a SB die cut and popped it up 

with a white panel behind it.

at The Daily Marker, I thought I would

break out my fairly new Blooming Garden

set from Penny Black. Since it turned out so

springy, I thought I would use the sentiment 

from this Essentials set and turn it into 

a Mother's Day card.

Make It Monday #233 Splatters

Papertrey Ink MIM Challenge

I love splatters, I can remember

"splatter painting" as a kid, we

used an old toothbrush and rubbed

our thumbs over the bristles.

Now that I''ve grown up, I use a 

paint brush! ;)

I have two brothers-in-law with
birthdays in December so made these
masculine cards and added the splatters.

These are regular A2 cards, not sure
why the picture is distorted!

I inked up my Stampendous

Ranunculus stamp for the first time.

I looked for an idea of how to color

this image and found Ellie's take

She has such gorgeous backgrounds, too.

I'll need lots more practice but

I do like how it turned out.

I used Artist's Loft water colors 

and the sentiment is from

Holiday Style Using Tiny Stamps

 I had time and energy for one more

card tonight. I had a couple tiny stamps

laying on my desk from Day 2 when

we saw how to use them.

I went at it a little differently but

I probably haven't used these little guys

very much until now. I still want to try 

the tree shape like May did.

I'm going to call this Cute & Whimsical which

was on Day 5. I think it fits that category better.

I cut some stencils of ornaments on my

Silhouette and then ink blended them

with Festive Berries & Twisted Citron DIs.

I heat embossed my little stamps

using VersaFine black ink and Ranger

Liquid Plantinum ep.

The stamps are from Unity.

I offset the front panel, popped it up

with 3M foam tape and added some

Paper Studio twine.

One more for Holiday Style Card Class

I started this card last week for 

the day of class that focused on

Shimmer & Shine. I just had some

time yesterday to finish it up.

Sorry for the glare, hard to capture
all the fun glitz and shine!

I used VersaMark to adhere the foil
and then heated it with my iron.
