Welcome to the final FWF of 2013!
I'm glad this year is over!
As usual, check out the Unity blog

the amazing Unity creations!

Here is a Starbucks gift card

covered her with clear rock candy Stickles
and glued her onto the cuff. SU rub-ons,
Unity holly stamp colored with
Copics & red Stickles.

TH music washi tape, the red washi
is from a Simon Says Stamp grab bag.
I zig-zagged and used ColorBox
green ink around the edges. I used
the lip of a cup for the pocket.
Here are a couple more pics:

Got a birthday card colored
for my cousin, too bad her birthday
was on the 21st....better late than never!

12.20.13 FWF

Here we are, 5 days from Christmas!
I'm off to do some shopping today,
but first my weekly post!
Check out the UNITY BLOG for all
the Hop details!

Here is my tag inspired by Teri Anderson
& the CLASSroom's 12 Tags of
Christmas with a Feminine Twist.
You can find Teri's tag HERE.

I cut out the center of the tag, inked
it with peeled paint DI, misted it
with a little water, &
then sewed vellum that I had dry
embossed into the center. I used a TH
snowflake embossing border.
I die cut some SB snowflakes from vellum,
cut the words on my Silhouette,
& colored the Unity snowman
with my Copics. Some s.e.i. ribbon
finishes the tag off.

Day 8- Double Embossing

Double embossing was the challenge for Day 8 of
The 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist
at the CLASSROOM last week. Today is
the last day to enter your tags.
You can see Sharon Harnist's
Inspiring tag HERE.

I used a Cuttlebug music folder to
emboss the coffee dyed tag, gently rubbed
VersaMark over the raised parts
and heat embossed it with clear EP.

I applied evergreen bough, vintage photo,
& black soot DIs.
The reindeer is a TH stamp heat embossed
with a mix of gold & silver EP.
Brads are from a grab bag. "Snow" is
Golden molding paste.
The branch is a Silhouette file covered
with walnut Distress Stain and clear
rock candy Stickles. The bell is covered
with antique linen Distress Paint.
Holly leaves are hand cut from paper
I misted a long time ago, covered with
clear rock candy Stickles.
Fibers are s.e.i. & velvet ribbon from stash.
The berries are hole punched from
a glittery enveloped from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by!

12 Tags-Day 4

 Kittie Caracciolo

Made the tag for day 4 of the
12 Tags of Christmas with a
Feminine Twist.
Check out her tag HERE.

I did what I could to make a
look alike today.

Stash paper and an old evergreen
stamp to white embossed the pines.
Tiny snowflake stamp for the
falling snow.

I found the birch trees, evergreen sprigs,
and the kids sledding in the
Silhouette store.
I popped up 2 of the birch and both
layers of the snowy hills.
Clear rock candy Stickles to
finish off the hills.

12 Feminine Tags of Christmas

Welcome to my Day 3 post
Check out the details at
Prizes and lots of inspiration!
This tag is inspired by Ronda Palazzari.

Another coffee stained tag,
simply because I stained all my tags
and have no plain ones around!
Stenciled snowflakes with molding paste,
stamped and embossed the silver
snowflakes on top of the paste.

Unity stamps
Everything is covered with
various Distress Inks or paint.
Iced Spruce, Peeled Paint,
Festive Berries, Vintage Photo,
and a smidgen of Black Soot
Splattered with water

Used some white ink through
TCW star stencil
Silver embossed the star. Lots of
Clear Rock Candy Stickles.
All the embellishments are
"found items"....I found them on
my desk, left from other projects!

Couldn't resist adding this picture
from our little snowy corner of
the world! Snowy all day...
it's beginning to look a lot
like Christmas!

Thanks for poking your head
in my door today to say hello!

12Tags-Day 2

Julie Ebersole showed us a
die cut in a window on her tag
over at the CLASSroom.

I don't have any cool dies like
That so I had to settle for a cool
little house stamp, it's okay, I'm
not so much a city girl anyway!

Coffee/vanilla stained tag

Music background CHF
SB die, Stickles
Green paper is MME
Scrap of paper from
Me & My Big Ideas

Thanks for taking a look!

12 Tags of Christmas.......

.......With a Feminine Touch!

Here is a fun series from Ellen
Hudson and
Check it out, there are prizes!

For Day 1 with Jennifer McGuire,
I made a card instead of a tag because
I need to get one in the mail to my bil!

The challenge is to use molding
paste and a stencil.

I cut out this little snowman from Unity
3 times, glued the negative spaces
all together and then smoothed
molding paste over him, had to
coat him with iridescent ep, too!

Here you can see how my stamp made an
impression in the too soft molding paste!
I found out that ep resists ink! I had my
stamp inked with StazOn when I made
the impression! After I remelted the ep,
the ink stuck a little better.

Thanks for stopping by!

11.29.13

Wow! Can't believe how quickly the year is winding
down! But still a few FWFs left to enjoy in 2013!
I've got a bunch of pictures so we can get right
to it! Unity's BLOG is the place to find all the details!

First up is a bday card for my fil.
I used the BeInspired sketch for
this month's challenge.

Unity candles and the circle stamp
heat embossed and pinched out.

My next project is inspired by May Flaum
and her post HERE. I LOVE how she
made her gift card holder from the coffee cuff.
I am linking this up to Eclectic Paperie's

Front above. Festive Berried DI,  Ranger Stickles
in Ruby Slippers & Clear Rock Candy. The
circle stamp is heat embossed &
has Glossy Accents on it.

Below is the back side

Inside we have Spellbinders snowflake dies,
coated with more Rock Candy Stickles.
I usually put a layer of waxed paper
between the die and the paper.
Couldn't bear to throw them away
so you can see 2 of them I used here.

The pocket and blue stars are
cut out of the empty coffee cup.
Faux stitching around the pocket,
ran my paper piercer along the edges
and used the holes for spacing.

Lots and lots of Unity stamps here.
I realize I have a Starbucks card in a
Caribou Coffee cuff!

Here is a card cased from one on
Kristina Werner's blog, Day 13 of

Since I used BG's Out of Print papers,
I'm linking it up to the Basic Grey

Thanks for stopping by, have a great
post-Thanksgiving weekend and
first week of Advent!

HCW Wrap Up Faux Letterpress

The final day of class was yesterday
and one of the card techniques
was to use dies for faux letterpress.
I gently inked the snowflake die and ran
it through my Big Shot with my
silicone mat. Super easy! Added a stamp
& some twine.

Spellbinders snowflake die
Evergreen Bough DI
Unity stamp, Festive Berries DI
Paper Studio twine

So another Holiday Card Workshop
draws to  a close.

So excited for this time of year!
Today is for FWF and sharing
all the fun and creativity of Unity fans.
Check out the details HERE.

I've been in the Holiday Card Workshop
and have made about 15 cards using
Unity stamps. I'm showing 3 here
so check out the rest in my older posts if you like!

Used the new Layers Of Life
and Distress markers, misted,
on watercolor paper

Here is a chalkboard look.
Top two stamps are Unity.

Heat embossed these little guys
and colored them with Distress
Markers.

Thanks for stopping by &
have a great weekend!

Day 5 Holiday Card Workshop-Chalkboard

Chalkboard look cards are
all the rage and I must say that
I do like them and I like making them!

Here is my take on the look:

Also decided to go with the slanted
look.  Difficult to take a straight
picture!!

The first two are Unity stamps
and the bottom one is Cornish
Heritage Farms.
Moonlight White Archival Brillance ink
White ZING! EP
Stickles, PS jewel colored red with R46
Signo gel pen on the lines.
Paper is from last year's stash

Feminine Version of the Day 5 Color Scheme

Holiday Card Workshop
I used the same technique for
making my plaid and masking
as the other Color Scheme card I
posted yesterday.  I added a bit
more to this card to dress it up a bit.
Ribbon, some pearls and layered it
onto red cs.

Always learn so much in these Online Card Classes!

Mix-Ability Challenge #42 Heavy Metal

for this week is to use
any aluminum foil or self adhesive
foil tape and acrylic paints along with
chipboard (or die cuts).
I cut my shape out of cs on my
Silhouette four times and glued
them all on top of each other.

I covered the 5 x 5" panel with
heavy duty aluminum foil and then
ran it through my Big Shot with
my "cut to fit" silicone baking sheet!
Came out great!

Gesso'd it

Painted it and after it
was dry, I sanded the edges a bit.

Coated it with Studio multi-medium
then thin black paint that I quickly
wiped away.
A double matt of Wausau Crinkle CS
and DCWV textured CS.

Distress Paints used:
Broken China, Antique Linen, Wild Honey.

Day 5 Color Schemes

For this card,
I cut a bunch of lines out with my
Silhouette and used that stencil
with an ink blending tool to achieve
the lines going both ways.
I like the look, but a real stencil
would probably work better
aaand I didn't make it quite big enough
so I had to reposition it to get the corners.

I used the Unity Peace & Joy stamp.
I made a mask by stamping the back
of the stamp onto the blue side of
my Inkadinkado masking paper.

Another Go @ Not Too Fussy

I just wasn't satisfied with my
first attempt at the Not Too Fussy card.
I love the technique but not my results.
Here is a card using the branch I cut
on my Silhouette for the stencil on my
previous card.  I colored it with a
Gathered Twigs Distress Marker,
embossed it with iridescent EP and
then again with white EP.

I paper pieced the ornamtents
and added the sentiment.  Both
stamps are Unity.

Check out the Holiday Card Workshop!

Day 5 Not Too Fussy

Day 5 of the Holiday Card Workshop
is focusing on His & Hers cards.
As you can imagine, the His cards
are the "not too fussy" ones!

Here is my first one and this was fun!
I've clear embossed on molding paste before
but I had never tried a color or
in this case my mix of gold & silver.
Love it!!

I cut the branch on my Silhouette
and used the negative space.
Used. Palette knife to spread the
molding paste over the stencil.
From there it was just adding EP
& heating.

I presses VersaMark onto the
Spellbinders snowflake & used the same EP
on it & on the Unity sentiment.

Day 4 Stamping with Back of Stamps

This card has been in the works for a
while. I colored the image last week
& just hadn't used this Urchin with Bird
from Mo's Digital Pencil yet.

Linking this up with Oozak's
Holiday & Anything Goes Challenge

I have a good friend whose husband
passed away and Friday will be their
33rd anniversary, only she has to face it alone now.
This card will be going to her.

It's a little wintery because that's the way
it is in the Midwest this time of year!

I die cut the snowflakes from polka-dot
paper I got from a SSS win.
The green paper is old s.e.i.
She is colored on Cryogen paper.

Inside I used a stamp from
My Favorite Things Cheerful Blessings.
I first stamped the red with the back side of
the stamp and then used Memories black ink
to stamp the sentiment. Clear Spica pen
on the pink snowflakes, PS pearls.
I used my tape letter maker to
write out the verse on the left.

Day 4 Curve Stamping

All these techniques we are
learning/practicing in the 2013
are so much fun!!

Here is my curved stamp card.
The scallops I use all the time in my
Mixed Media play, thought they
worked like garland here.

I used watercolor paper, a Unity stamp,
Mowed Lawn & Festive Berries
DistressMarkers on this card.
I misted the stamp after coloring on it
and did some 2nd & 3rd generation
stamping. The edges of the green cs
are sanded a bit.  I colored the PS jewels with
R46 & YG17 Copics.
The sentiment is from
Cornish Heritage Farms.

2nd Layered/Embossed Card

Had a bit of a struggle with these cards.
Either my paper or silver EP is too light.
Live and learn!

I will have to try this with different  stamps
& colors someday, love the concept!

The trees are more Unity stamps.
Sentiment is Cornish Heritage Farms,
some of the very first stamps I bought
years ago!
Peeled Paint, Stormy Sky &
Evergreen Bough DIs. VersaMark
& probably ZING! EP.
Paper is from a win somewhere.

Always a good time to join in
