H{ippity} Hop Holiday

So glad to be sharing more {ippity} this week, I think I'm hooked! I only got to make a couple cards for the Virtual Stamping event on SCS over the weekend, but my {ippity} stamps were what I grabbed for!

This challenge was to use a brayered technique. It was fun and I will probably try it again sometime when I actually have a brayer instead of a stamp roller! These stamps are from the Devoted set.
This next card uses both Devoted and What Matters Most and the "sweet" is from the Unity May 09 KOTM. This is a house warming card for my niece and her husband who recently bought their first home. The challenge was to use something new (my ippity stamps) and the color green. Paper is BG Kioshi.

Happy Memorial Day, be sure to thank a veteran for the freedoms we are blessed to have! This is the last day to sign up for my GIVEAWAY!!! Next on the hop is WENDY'S BLOG

VSN Something New

This is a house-warming card for the VSN Something New Challenge at SCS. The obvious challenge was to use something new and we could use green if we chose. I used my new {ippity} stamp sets: Devoted and What Matters Most. I also used my new BG paper pad, Kioshi.

VSN Serigraph Challenge

Well, here is my entry for the VSN serigraph technique...kind of....after making the card I came back here and realized I forgot to use flowers! :( I had fun with the technique anyway. I don't have a brayer so used a memory Essentials stamp roller! And I didn't have white embossing powder so used white ink and clear powder so they didn't really show up. The best part is I gave this card to someone at church this morning and they loved it so all is not lost!
I used {ippity} devoted set for this card. Ink is SU really rust, Ranger butterscotch, Ranger antique linen distress ink, Stampabilities white.

Virtual Stamping

We are having a pretty busy weekend but I had an hour last night to make a couple of the challenges from the VSN over at SCS.
This first one is for Carole's challenge to make a card using white, grey and blue. CAS, my daughter needed a Thinking of You card:

My First H{ippity} Hop! (and three challenges)

I've had some {ippity} stamps for awhile now, fell in love with them from the start! I made this card with some interesting paper. My dd gave me a card for Mother's Day (from Barnes & Noble) and said to look at how pretty the INSIDE of the envelope was and that I should use it on a card! Well, I think she was right! You can see some of the gold in the paper reflecting in the flash from my camera. The ribbon is a scrap of wired ribbon I found in the odds and ends basket at WalMart. The ruby jewels are from The Beadery. I love the verses in the {ippity} Devoted set! This card will be going to a grad soon.
My second card today is for Patter's Scripture Challenge. I am desperately trying to keep up, just have one more to do to be up to date! This study was on the word EXAMPLE. I thought using an owl to remind me of being wise was a good way to express what being a good example to others includes. I used the Devoted tree branch and the Unity June 09 KOTM owl. I made two score lines around the verse, you can just see them.

I used Midnight Madness sketch # 54 and will also enter it in a new challenge I just saw on my friend Gwen's blog. Happily Ever Crafter challenge #6 over there was to use the last digit of the year you were born to get the "recipe" for your own personal challenge! Lots of fun! I used brown for a base, leaves, and DMC floss, and paper-pieced on mine.
For the list of participants in this Hippity Hop, check out the {ippity} blog HERE. Next on the Hop is MONICA!
***Don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY and have a happy Monday!

Happy Mail & Unity's FWF Friday!!

Thanks for stopping by! I got happy mail from Unity yesterday!! I couldn't resist making this thank you card. LOVE this Material Girl set!! I used the Hip Hop Sketch #08. I used part of the "thanks" sentiment from the March 10 KOTM and added the "sew sweet" from Material Girl. The paper is Cosmo...of course, and the frame stamp is from the Soirees & Such set.
The next one I made for Etsy Inspired's 88th Challenge. Check out my inspiration at Creation Designs HERE. This is my first try at the brick technique. I used the background stamp and watering can from the April KOTM. The layer behind that is cheesecloth. Added a huge vintage button and part of a clothing tag that came on dh's new shirt!

This card uses the Midnight Madness Sketch #53 I plan to use it for my mil's birthday later this summer, she LOVES gardening! Inked up some of my older stamps. The paper is Pressed Flowers on Script by the Paper Studio.

For the list of everyone playing along with Unity's HOP today, check out their blog HERE. Keep an eye out for the blinkie...a chance at some Unity goodness!

A CARD FOR MAKIAH--FWF

*PLEASE SIGN UP FOR GIVEAWAY IN TOP POST!!*
Welcome to FWF! The list of everyone playing along is on Unity's blog HERE. And remember to watch for the blinkie along the way...spotting it may earn you 25 Unity stamps!! Here is a pop-up birthday card for a very special little girl:

I have a special favor to ask of you this week. Makiah is a relative of our pastor's wife and she has been battling a rare liver cancer since last October. Her 5th birthday is coming up on May 22 and if any of you would want to send her a birthday card or send the family a thinking of you card, I know they would appreciate it! Also say some prayers that the treatments and upcoming surgery would be successful. Click on Makiah's picture to the right to go to her Caring Bridge site where you can find their address. Or email me and I can send it to you as well.
Here is a look at the back of it, I used 6 different Unity sets on this card.

Here is my second card, not real sure I like it. As soon as I saw these flowers in the April KOTM, I knew I wanted to pair them with this paper. Especially after I got some new SU and Ranger inks that matched perfectly. I offset each of the three times that I stamped the image. Saw this cool way Angela P. matted an image on Moxie Fab's Three Cheers for Chairs post the other day and thought it would match the paper and flowers as well.

**PLEASE, PLEASE SIGN UP IN THE TOP POST FOR MY GIVEAWAY BY GUESSING THE DETAILS OF OUR SOON-TO-ARRIVE GRANDBABY!!**
That's all for this week, enjoy the hop and have a great weekend!

Prom 1980

There is a big party going on over at Midnight Madness! Priscilla challenged us to share old photos of our "party attire"! Here is a picture of dh and I from "back in the day" all ready to go to prom!! Sorry for the photo quality...had to take a picture of a 30 year old picture since my scanner isn't working. My dad was always so good at making us squint into the sun when he took our pictures!

Scripture Challenge-Quiet

This 4 x 6 is for Patter Cross's 9th Scripture Challenge for 2010. Being quiet or still is not easy for me! I am a fixer by nature so being still and letting God work in His way and His time has been a challenge for me. One thing I know, His way is ALWAYS better!
I used my new {ippity} stamps, What Matters Most, and Unity's Frame this Alpha set. I LOVE those butterflies, paper-pieced and popped up the biggest two. The paper is BG's Kioshi, which I also loved from the first time I laid eyes on it! The brads are from Recollections and the ink is Palette burnt umber. The burlap is from my stash.
PLEASE ENTER MY GIVEAWAY, IT GOES THROUGH MIDNIGHT, MAY 31. CHECK IT OUT HERE!!

I used this week's Unity Color Challenge to use green, yellow, and orange and to "Keep it Simple"! When I think of those three colors, I think of sherbet! So in keeping with the yummy, frozen treat, here is my CAS card:

Super easy, the Paper Studio kraft cs, Cosmo Cricket scraps, ribbon from a cheapy Michael's bin, and Memories ink. The stamps are Unity, of course, June 09 KOTM & March 10 KOTM. The cone is all paper-pieced and the yellow scoop is popped up.

MMSC Sketch w/ Unity Challenge

I got Basic Grey's Kioshi paper in the mail today and used it for this wedding card. The Unity challenge last week was to ink up the first stamps you bought from them. Something Within was my first purchase, love the Bible verses and the cross!

The three strand cord and three pearls on the cross symbolize that marriage is a union between the husband, wife, and God.
I used sketch 52 from Midnight Madness. (They have a great giveaway there, celebrating their 1 year anniversary!) I also used Palette burnt umber ink and Ranger Butterscotch ink and clear embossing powder, the Paper Studio pearls. The tag, blue fiber paper, butterscotch cs, and cord are from my stash. I hand printed the wedding date on the tag with a Martha Stewart sepia marker. The tag can be removed and used as a keepsake bookmark.

Scrapbook Page for Unity's Challenge

I was going to upload this to the SCS gallery but just read that they are having trouble there. I'll just post it here for now! On Saturday (Nat'l Scrapbooking Day) Unity posted a couple sketches. I chose this one and tweaked it just a bit:

This will go in my "Grandkids" scrapbook. I have 2 pages done for each granddaughter, the next one will be Ellie's 2nd birthday....have to locate some pictures first!
