Be sure to keep an eye out for Unity's blinkie, Perhaps you can win some Unity stamps if you find it!!
I'm sharing three cards that I made earlier this week. For all the details just keep scrolling down. I am off to a basketball game and am not going to have time to re-enter all the "recipes".

This is my very first try at an easel card...what fun!!

Another Valentine card, just can't seem to stop making them!

Hope you have a great hop and
enjoy the view along the way!

Always in my Heart

This card is for the one layer challenge at Stampin' Royalty, #3 and I used CPS Sketch #151. I also ran across this "naked" challenge to use only paper and stamps for the Loonie Stampers Challenge #76!!
I used a scrap of poster board someone gave me for this 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" card. I scored the lines with my Scor-Pal. All stamps are Unity, the medallion is from the Jan. '10 KOM, the sentiment is from the '09 KOM and the little heart is from Sending My Love. Ink is Memories black and ColorBox red.

Plant a Seed of Love!

For this card I used the color combo from SPCC #32 and the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge #23 to use a little green on your card. (The sketch is from Delightful Sketches # 15 but after I made it I looked closer at the blog and I think all the entries are supposed to be digital.)
The stamps are all from Unity's January '10 Kit of the Month. I paper-pieced the plant and pot and popped the whole circle up with dimensionals.
Have a great week! We started ours out with a blizzard yesterday but today the sun is shining again and the drifts look like frosting!

Easel Card for HOPE2010 w/ MMSC Sketch

I've been wanting to try an easel card for a while and decided the sketch from MMSC #37 would work on it. The HOPE2010 challenge at SCS (post #51) was to use this verse from Isaiah 40:28 to encourage someone. I have a friend who recently resigned from her job under less than great circumstances. I know she can use this verse to hang on to because God knows the truth!
I stamped the offwhite paper with a background stamp I got from my dd using Palette burnt umber. The flower stamps and word are Unity and the brown trim is Alpine Frost from s.e.i. and the lace is MM. Cord, button and all other papers are from my stash.

Sketchy Thursday & Scripture Challenge

I combined the Second Chance Challenge sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays with Patter's Scripture Challenge for this week. The word to study is temptation. I felt like the paint spattering on the challenge would fit well with this topic, it kind of represents how sin messes up our lives when we give in to temptations. Thankfully, Jesus died to pay for those sins so we can get "cleaned up" when we ask Him to forgive us for falling into temptation!
The paper is Karen Foster Design Old Green Paint. I roughed up the edges and then dressed it up with brown spatter paint, PrintMaster, a vintage button and some machine stitching.

HAPPY FRIDAY WITH FRIENDS

Friends..........ahhh, gotta have 'em and love havin' you stop by today on Unity's Friends With Flair Friday!!
I got my January KOM in the mail earlier this week and had it inked up before I went to bed! I used the polka dots, embossed the "adore" from the journal square and the "you" from the "under a shady tree you & me" sentiment. Also used the hearts from the September KOM. My dh came by and was punching out pink flowers so I had to use one of them behind the button just for him!! I added the pink stitiching to finish it off.
You can find a complete list of this week's participants on the Unity blog. And don't forget to watch for the blinkie so you can have a chance at some Unity stamps!!

Happy hopping and have a
super great weekend!

BE HAPPY!

I used SPCC # 31 for the color combo on this birthday card.
The sketch is from Sweet Stop Sketch #39. This is a sketch with a spin...to use a sentiment only.

It's A Girl

I used CPS sketch #150 for this baby girl card. I love the sketch but I'm not crazy about how this card turned out.

I really love the Unity Love is in the Air hot-air balloon which I paper-pieced.

The blanket in the background is mine from when I was a baby. I think my mom did the crocheting around the edges.

Special Delivery

Seems like there are lots of babies due to arrive this spring so I thought I'd get a headstart on cards. I used Get Sketchy #21 for my layout and the color challenge from Christian Paper Crafts' Color Monday #39 to use light blue, any shade of brown and white. Hope it is okay that I threw a bunch of pink in there as well!

Another Valentine to share

Here is a card that came together today for a couple challenges:
Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger: From Winter's Garden showing a purple and green cabbage & Tuesday Morning Sketch #28 to use buttons and bows.
My dd loves purple so this card may just find it's way to Washington State in time for Valentine's Day!
I love the "love abides" sentiment, it's from Unity. The heart stamp is Stampin' Up that I just won and had to use right away!! Buttons are Basic Grey, ribbon is Offray, Martha Stewart edge punch. The citron paper is Wausau but I'm not sure of the polka dotted paper because I won that, too and I love it!

FWF & Moxie Fab Start to Finish

Welcome to Unity's
Friends With Flair Friday!!
And can I just say...YIPPEE! We are half way through January...my least favorite month of the year!! If you live in MN you might know why I feel this way!
For a complete list of everyone taking part in today's blog hop, you can go to Unity's blog. Don't forget to watch for the blinkie so you can leave a comment and have a chance at winning some Unity stamps!!
I must have had Carolina's card from last week's FWF in the back of my mind! I stamped the journal page on some "cheesecloth-like" material. It was a little bag that held my Anthropologie receipt for the adorable salt/pepper shakers that my dd requested for Christmas...not that I am getting side-tracked here.....!
I was over at Moxie Fab earlier this week and saw Cath's Start to Finish challenge to show how the inside of the card coordinates with the front so thought I'd share a picture of the inside of this card with you. Also works for the Friday Fun Challenge!
The stamps are Unity's Distressed Dots (which I won on Jen's blog in December), the December KOM journal page and the sentiment from the Love is in the Air set. Inside the card I used stamps from Bevy of Butterflies and the August KOM. I hand cut the heart and edged it with ColorBox pink, the burnt umber Palette ink (which I love) was also in with the goodies Jen sent. The vintage velvette ribbon is from my dh's grandmother's things. The paper is citron from WausauPapers.

His Holy Name 09 Front Page

I guess now I am officially done with the HHN09 study on the names of God. I had left the front page of my album empty and it had slipped my mind until Patter encouraged us to make a front page for the Scripture Challenge for 2010. (You can join in on that challenge HERE.) It isn't too late to join in, we've only done the word hope so far.
I used Basic Grey's Lemonade papers....just LOVE these colors! The stamps are from Unity's Bevy of Butterflies set. I got them just before Christmas and am finding that I grab that set a lot lately. I embossed the Ranger Cranberry ink and added a few BG buttons and some ribbon from my stash.
I used my new PrintMaster program for the title, love that font, it is called bowfin. Since I used my new program, I am also entering this in the SCS challenge called Ways To Use It. The sketch is MMSC# 36 from Midnight Madness.

Get Sketchy #20

Get Sketchy has great sketches to inspire creativity! This card is for sketch # 20 and the challenge is open until Thursday night. This sketch was going along pretty fine until I got to that little "swoosh" across the bottom. I didn't want to leave it out so this is what I came up with.
I used DCWV cardstock, My Mind's Eye Orange Flowers,
Stampin' Up stamp, added some green PrismaColor on the leaves and a few brads and twine from my stash.

FWF07 Love is in the Air

I made this card for Unity's Friends With Flair challenge to get inspiration from Karen's card shown in THIS post on Unity's blog. Every week Unity highlights a card on the FWF Friday post and then we can use it for our inspiration. I'll get this uploaded to my SCS gallery tomorrow like I'm supposed to! (Since I'm not a member, I can't do it today.)
I used the Unity Dream Tree that I won in a giveaway, along with other Unity stamps from the June and October KsOM and the Love is in the Air set. The rick rack and twine are from my stash. The ink is Stampabilities red and Palette burnt umber...love that ink pad! I embossed a bit on the tree and also on the birds.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you are having a super Sunday!

Valentine for Etsy-Inspired Challenge #70

I haven't played along with the Etsy-Inspired Challenge for a long time but decided to yesterday. I got my inspirations from THESE hairclips at Skylar's Candy Clips.
The stamps are all from Unity's August KOM, ColorBox pink ink, vintage velvette ribbon (from dh's grandmother), and Gemstones.

Friend to Friend for MMSC#35

Well, it is another cold, drifty day in MN. Couldn't get to church this morning because our road is drifted shut...again...what is a body to do but MAKE CARDS??!!!!
This is for the sketch challenge at Midnight Madness that ends tomorrow!
I used DCWV cardstock (not sure what the dp is), Unity June KOM stamps and cord and buttons from my stash.
Off to make some more cards!

Snowy MN FWF Day!!

Welcome to Unity's Friends With Flair!! You can check out Unity's blog for a complete list of everyone playing along today.
Glad you stopped by for a visit! We haven't been going anywhere here in southwest MN because we are having such strong winds blowing around all the snow we've had in the last two weeks.....25+ inches. Our roads drift shut so easily so I foresee some great card-making days in my immediate future!
This week I made these 4 x 6 cards for the Scripture Challenge Patter Cross is hosting on her blog. The first challenge is to study the word "hope" and pick a Bible verse that talks about hope. I am making two of each so that I can laminate one set to give to my granddaughters. The other set just may end up as card fronts or become a collection for myself....haven't decided yet! I used this week's sketch #19 from Get Sketchy for my layout. AND...don't forget to watch for the Unity blinkie so you can have a chance at some Unity stamps!
The paper is a MM set I got from my dd for Christmas. The flower jewel on the front card and letter stickers are also from the set. I printed the verses out with PrintMaster. I added some Gemstones, Stickles, used a Unity flower from the December KOM and added some faux stitching along the edges.
Enjoy the hop and have a great weekend!!

HHN09 Immanuel

This is my final page for the His Holy Name study I did in '09. It was a great way to get into the Bible and focus on the attributes of God! I used sketch #34 from MMSC for my starting point and picked these colors since I had been hoarding this "friend" paper for quite awhile. Decided that Immanuel, meaning God with us, was quite a way for Him to show His friendship towards us. He is still the awesome, almighty, powerful God to whom we should show utter reverance, but He came to earth so that we could know Him and have a relationship with Him. Bottom line, Jesus came to earth to eventually die for us and pay the penalty for our sins, glorifying God the Father, as well. Fitting study for the Christmas season and to end the year.....fitting way to begin the new year thinking on our new life in Christ when we accept Him as our Savior!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, Friends with Flair!!

Welcome to the 01/01/10 Friends With Flair Friday!
To see the whole list of those participating, check out Unity's blog HERE.
We have a wedding to go to this evening so I made this using CPS's challenge this week to use any sketch from the last year. I chose sketch #4. It also works for the Friday Fun Challenge (check the gallery at SCS, FFC63 for other entries). Unity's September KOM, the Paper Studio's b & w doodle hearts, Offray ribbon and some Gemstones. I made these for my daughter to send to a friend. They literally took about 10 minutes to put together and all the stamps are from the November KOM, so many great stamps, as usual!! I did a little paper-piecing, punched an edge, added some Stickles and ribbons....ready to go!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a blessed 2010!!
