CPS Sketch #185 for a Scripture Challenge

I took great liberty with the CPS Sketch but if you look really closely, you can see my horizontal strips and the focus being on the lower right hand corner!

This 4 x 6 is also for Scripture Challenge #16 to study the word "Worship". This was very eye opening for me. In our culture, we tend to think of worship as standing around singing but as I studied this word in Scripture I realized that the majority of the references to worship included bowing down and/or getting face down on the ground before God. I felt a renewed sense of awe for the power and majesty of God! The angels have been worshiping God/Jesus all through history, from His birth in Bethlehem to the end of time when they will fall before His throne! How can we not join in??!

Paper: Basic Grey Wassail & the Paper Studio textured cs
Stamp: Unity's Glorious Angel
Ink: Palette burnt umber; PrintMaster;
Accessories: MM brads; Offray ribbon; gold Stickles; Silhouette letters

HHSC #25

Yep, I turned the sketch on it's side....a simple baby card for dear friends. I cut the frame and the duck on my Silhouette...having so much fun with that machine! Stamps are from {ippity}'s Fall For You set.

All the stamping is heat embossed.

And I want to share the card I made for my DH as we celebrate our 29th anniversary tomorrow. Wow, where did all those years go? Some tough times but many, many good times! We love each other more than ever! I used UAC #18 for my inspiration. I sponged bleach onto the Wauwau Paper blue ribbon cs for my background.

the Paper Studio kraft cs; Unity Sentiments O' Simple & ippity Because of You; EK Adornaments trim and Paper Studio gemstones. Ink is Memories black and Craft Essentials royal blue. The clothespin is from a RAK.

Wow! Check this Out!

I will blog this because it is so gorgeous and it gives me another chance at winning one! You guys have GOT to go look at the other pictures...and leave a comment for a chance to win one! Go to The Vintage Pearl!

Scripture Challenge Word: Fear Not

....and here is my 4 x 6 for the Fear Not study for two challenges. I haven't done a HOPE2010 challenge for a long time so am using this one to fulfill both of these. You can find the HOPE challenge led by Cindy HERE on SCS. I used these bright colors because they just seem to be the complete opposite of what fear feels like! Patter's study on "fear not" can be found HERE.

I again used paper from the RAK Rachel sent; ColorBox French Blue ink; PrintMaster for the verse; Unity Dec. 09 KOTM flower stamp; Darice Gems; American Craft chit chat Thickers; Century Florist Supply Co. Daisy ribbon (from hubby's grandmother's old sewing supplies); the flower between the stamped flowers and the flower brad are also from my stash.

Scripture Challenge Word: FATHER

I am WAY behind on my Scripture Challenge words that Patter posts every two weeks. I finally found some time to work on getting caught up. Check out the main post HERE, it is fun to see what the others have made. I am just doing 4 x 6 pages and putting them into a little photo album.

Details:
Paper from Rachel B.'s birthday RAK; Unity Oct. 09 KOTM; PrintMaster; Memento Rich Cocoa; Recollections brads; BG ribbon doillies; cut letters on Silhouette; Fiskars corner edger.

Here we go with 09/10/10 FWF!!

It is such a great time of the year here in Minnesota! LOVE the cool, clear weather, the leaves, the pumpkins....so it's time to make some Fall themed cards. The first two were both for VSN challenges. This one was to use vellum, purple and amber. I love the Harvest of Memories set!!

My second card is my favorite of all the ones I made for VSN and was actually chosen as the winner of the In The Summertime challenge!! Super excited about THAT! The challenge was to use the same SCS sketch and color challenge numbers (I chose #29) along with a favorite summer song. I chose Lobo's One and the Same Thing because I can remember listening to it over and over one summer. My bil had the 8-track!!! (Yeah, that really dates me!) One of the lines says "I can't seperate your love from life now" and that is exactly how I feel about my dh. We will celebrate 29 years together on Sept. 18 and I am so very thankful for him!!

I used BG Wassail paper, it worked for artichoke, burgundy and pumpkin pie which were the colors in challenge #29. Yep, used that Harvest of Memories set again!

Can you stand one more card? This is my card for Unity Addicts Challenge #17. I picked the letter "N" from the Bingo challenge so I included a colored image, a sticker--s.e.i. glitter border, swirls, green, and embossing. This is my first try at using Copics. DH and I were gone over the weekend and "just happened" to get a hotel down the street from the Archivers store in Eden Prairie! ;) I think I need more than 5 of them!! (details are in my SCS gallery which you can find in the UAC post.)

You have lots of goodness to check out so it's time to be on your way. You can see the whole list at
Unity's blog. (And don't forget to watch for that blinkie!! 25 stamps to add to your collection!!)
Happy Weekend!!

HHSC & VSN Card for Friends W/ Flair

Welcome to a September FWF! I mentioned last week that Sept. is my favorite month...I just love the weather in MN this time of year! The busy-ness of harvest will soon be here, the leaves start to change, the garden and mowing slow down...it's all good!
Anyway, you are here for Unity's FWF Hop so let's get to it! I played along with the Virtual Stamp Night on SCS last weekend. LOVE doing those things and learning new techniques. Here are two of the cards I made. The first one is for "A List" challenge to use texture, yellow, one embellishment and a stamp you don't use very often. I hadn't used this stamp from Inside & Out at all yet. I used Wausau Paper Crinkles cardstock for the texture.

This card is for Hip Hop Sketch Challenge #23, which I turned on it's side. Paper Crafts Connections has their Sept. Gallery Challenge out to use script/text on a project so I'd been thinking about using these elements together. I won the Graphic 45 Proper Gentleman line and I just love it! Inks are SU Really Rust; Palette burnt umber; Ranger Distress Ink. Stamps are {ippity} Because of You; Unity's Distressed Dots & Dec. '09 KOTM. BG ribbon.

Remember to watch for that Unity blinkie so you have a chance at the 25 stamps! The list of everyone playing along today is at Unity's blog.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and have a great weekend!
