04.26.13 FWF

Ahhh, FWF Friday!
Love seeing everyone's
Unity projects!  Go HERE
for all the Unity details
on this creative hop.
Two cards today.  The first
one is for the Mix-Ability 12
challenge at SCS.  Love that
challenge!
I used FC big Pitt pens &
misted with water for
my background.  Spritzed
some emerald green Smooch on
and then stamped the image
(Happy to be Me Itty Bitty)
with Broken China DI, clear
embossed it and added the
sentiment from the
flip-flop Itty Bitty.

DH celebrated his 51st birthday
on Wednesday so I made this
card for him:

He is just starting on a
restoration of a tractor like this.
He loves this picture!
I stuck foil tape to cardstock and
dry embossed it, then covered it
with black paint. When it was dry
I sanded it just a bit.
Sentiment is from Authentic Man.

Here is a sneak peek of my
art journal project for next
Friday's Art Journal Blog Hop
organized by Maria Levine

Have a great weekend!
We are supposed to have 70*
weather!!!!  Yippee!!!

Flower Challenge

Eclectic Paperie has a flower challenge going
on so on the recommendation of Tracy
I'm going to jump in with this card.

I used a TH Tattered Florals die
to cut this flower from plastic
packaging. I dropped alcohol inks
onto the plastic and then lifted some
off with an ink tool. I stamped the
script with black StazOn.
Both stamps are from Unity.

Happy Friday FWF with UNITY!
Check their blog for hop details.

My prayers are with all the
people affected by the Boston bombing
and the explosion in Texas.  Life
is so fragile! My complaints don't
seem too significant next to those events!

We were without electricity for
almost a week and then lightning
hit something in the area Tuesday
night and our internet went out again!
We have had 2 ice/snow storms in the last
1.5 weeks, no kidding. It looks like
January outside, about 16" of snow
after the ice in these 2 storms!

Anyway, I did eek out some
card making time. (Sorry the
pics are so poor.)
This one was for last week's
Mix Ability challenge at SCS.
We were to use scrap negative
die cuts.  The turquoise panel
was from birds I cut on my
Silhouette. I also used 2
Spellbinders dies as masks
before I sprayed the yellow paint.
The stamps are all from the
Sing to the Lord set from Ippity.

This card was inspired by a
tutorial I saw on alcohol inks.

I used the Tattered Florals die
to cut this flower from some plastic
packaging. Dropped various colors
of inks on the plastic and stamped the
She Inspired script with StazOn Ink.
I added a jewel and the outline.  CAS.
The sentiment is from a grab bag I won.

 Thanks for stopping by
and have a great weekend!

4.12.13 FWF

Welcome to Unity's
Friends With Flair Friday!
Short post today, at
Barnes & Noble for some wifi.
We've been without electricity
at home since Tuesday night.
Thankfully we have a generator
to run things off and on!

Just a couple pics of our front yard
And back yard.

CAS card for this week.
SCS Mix-Ability challenge
Last week was to make
Hand cut circle flowers.
I used about 12 coffee filters.
Cut different sized layers
And dipped/colored them with my
Red Pitt pen.
Random Unity stamps!

Have a great weekend,
Wishing for spring in MN!

04.05.13 FWF

April!!  Even though
it is still pretty cold out here in MN,
the birds are back and it is
great to hear them singing.
No sign of any of my perennials
coming up although the
pansies survived the winter
and are the only green thing
out there so far!

Time for another Unity
FWF Hop! Check out
their BLOG for all the deets!

I've got a couple masculine
cards to share today.
One I made using
Teresa Collins Now & Then,
love these papers!

Stamps are heat embossed and are from
the Ippity set, Authentic Man.  I cut a window
and stamped the car, then framed it with
another diecut.

My second card is for
the Mix-Ability challenge #9 at SCS.
We were to use metal on our card.
I wrapped heavy duty aluminum
foil around corrugated cardboard,
ran it through my Big Shot and then
painted it with thinned, black craft
paint.  I sanded it so some of the
foil shines through and then
removed the cardboard and sized
the foil for my card.

 I used Distress Inks
to color my card and tag.
The sentiment is from
Nothin' But Blue Skies.

Hope you have a great,
warm, sunny, springy
weekend!  Thanks for
stopping by and be blessed!
