Today Unity is having their weekly Friends With Flair "Tour" and you can see the whole list of participants HERE. And more good news for YOU today....I am having my very first giveaway to celebrate the arrival of our third grandchild!! "It" is due early June and here is how you can enter:
Leave a comment on this post that includes the sex of the baby (no one knows yet!), date of birth, and the weight. Entries need to be posted by midnight May 31st and please include contact info. I'll post the winner June 4th (unless the baby isn't born yet!!) The prize will include this BG Green at Heart pad, 20 new Unity stamps, Cuttlebug stuff, a Sizzix die, and some other goodies that I decide to throw in!!

Now for today's cards. I made this for the sketch challenge Unity posted as part of their 2nd Anniversary celebration. I LOVE the Inside & Out set!! I got the flower buttons from a little shop in Delaware in March when I was shopping with my sisters. Thought they were just perfect for this card.

And here is my card for the Going to the Birds Challenge. Not super happy with how it turned out but it was fun anyway, might tweek this idea using flowers or who knows what inside the frames!

One more, hasn't Unity been inspiring all week?! This is the card I made for the Triple Take sketch challenge posted on Thursday:

That's it for today...have a great weekend...take some time for family, friends, and faith! Thanks for hopping and please enter the giveaway! From here you can hop over to LAUREL'S BLOG....

All Things Unity FWF

Welcome to another FWF hop, don't you just love Unity!!?? You can go to their blog HERE to see who is all playing along today. I've been busy helping DH get the crop planted this week but had a few minutes the other morning to put this card together. I'd been planning this one in my head so it came together very quickly. I got my inspiration from a couple challenges over at All Things Unity. I used their colors from THIS post and included stars to go along with the Up in the Sky challenge.

I found this handmade paper at a cool variety store downtown Sioux Falls, SD. I love the texture and the colors and was happy that it accepted the ink so well. I went with a pretty CAS design because I think the paper is so gorgeous it pretty much carries the card all by itself! The stamp is from Unity's Inside & Out, the ink is Palette burnt umber and I colored the star in with PrismaColor yellow pencil. The ribbon is Offray and the star was in my button stash..just right!
This card will soon be on it's way to a dear friend in Washington state and your next stop is DONNA, remember to watch for that blinkie and happy hopping!

FWF-Elise's Page

Welcome to another FWF Friday. How can April be half gone already? To see the whole list of everyone taking part in today's Flair Hop, check out Unity's post HERE after 9:00 a.m. Be sure to watch for that blinkie so you have a chance at the 25 Unity stamps!
I'm on a roll with my grandkid album! Here is my namesake's 8 x 8 page for the day she was born:

All the paper I used was from my stash (which was enhanced from a RAK!). I just went with the colors on Elise's birth announcement for my color scheme. I used {ippity} stamps from the Straight From the Heart set. The ink is Palette burnt umber and Versa Mark cloud white. Chipboard is by Magistical Moments, yellow button by Such Sweet Tierney, green button from my stash, and the pink ribbon is from Offray. I did some machine stitching along several of the edges.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to go see the other marvelous projects. Have a super grand weekend!

A Card and a Scrapbook page for FWF

Welcome to Unity's FWF. (Go HERE to find the whole list of everyone playing today.) Don't you just love Fridays!?? I am absent today but will catch up with everyone's posts tonight. DD and I are bringing DH to the airport first thing this morning. He is going to AZ to the NASCAR race with our DS who lives there. After we drop him off we are going to celebrate her 23rd birthday by shopping all day! Anyway....on to what you came here for. Last week I posted the first page (Ellie's birth day) of the book I am making of our grandkids. Today I have Ellie's first birthday page to show you:

Supplies include: the Paper Studio's hearts on white, DCWV cs, Unity's May, June & July KOTM, Offray ribbon, Memories ink, and buttons from my stash. The number "1" was cut out with a Cricut Expressions at the scrapping event I went to. THAT is a very fun toy! :)
AND...I got my Inside & Out set in the mail yesterday and couldn't resist inking up one of the great sentiments!! Sorry for the bad lighting, too much flash after dark! Most of the supplies are the Paper Studio products and the sketch is the Hip Hop Challenge #2.

That's all for this week...have a GREAT weekend! I'll be playing with my new stamps! :)

Perfect Word Study with Unity Color Combo

I thought I'd try Unity's new color challenge with a twist today. (Pomegranate, Tangerine, Caramel w/ ruched ribbon) I needed to get caught up on the study I'm doing at Patter's Triple the Scraps blog so combined the two. Here is the result...not too crazy about it but the Scripture is the main thing and that is ALWAYS perfect!!

Papers: the Paper Studio cs, pp from stash; Stamps: Unity March KOTM; Ink: Stampabilities walnut, PrintMaster; Accessories: American Craft Thickers, BG ribbon, the Paper Studio pearls; machine stitching and paper piecing.

SPCC Color Combo #42

I haven't done a Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo in ages so thought I'd give it a try for this birthday card I made for a neighbor. I tried to keep it CAS, never quite feels finished to me....

Details: Memories black ink; the Paper Studio cs & stash paper; Stampabilities sentiment & Northwoods Rubber Stamps, Inc. cattails; EK Success Adornaments trim, button from stash.

Neighbor Card

The weather has been so nice all week that I didn't spend much time in my craft room. Finally put a 4 x 6 together yesterday and today that fits into a couple challenges. I am doing Patter's Scripture Challenge this year and this is for the word "neighbor".

I used the sketch from Unity's Thursday Hip Hop Sketch Challenge and got my inspiration from Unity's Friends With Flair post. (The colors, the polka dots and stitching.)
I am also entering this in Our Daily Bread Design's April Fool's Faux Stitching or Not Challenge (THAT was a mouthful!) I don't have any ODBD stamps so am hoping to win that gift certificate in order to get some!!
Here are the details:
Paper is all from my stash; Unity Stamps are from July & Dec. 09, Feb. & Mar. 10 KOTM; Stampabilities walnut ink & PrismaColor dk. brown, PrintMaster; cord from Cousins Corp.; buttons from stash, DMC floss. I did machine stitching around the edge of the card and the blue square and faux stitching on the corner of the sun. I paper pieced the flowers and all the leaves and popped up the sun, the birds, the main image panel, the flowers and the leaves on the tree.

HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY!!

I know that my Redeemer lives!!! Have a blessed day, the fact that Jesus arose from death, conquering sin, sets Him apart from every other spiritual leader. HE IS the real thing!!

I AM a scrapper! FWF Day

Welcome to another FWF Friday!! Hope you enjoyed the Unity Hop yesterday! Wasn't it great fun?! Go to Unity's blog to check out the whole list of those playing along today. And be sure to watch for the blinkie and leave a comment to win 25 random Unity stamps. I am so excited and thankful to have won them last week and can't wait to get them inked up!

I haven't done a ton of scrapbooking...mostly make cards, but I went to an all day scrapping event so thought that to get into the spirit of the day, I would work on an idea I had been thinking about for awhile. I had an 8 x 8 album lying around and had decided to do a page for the day each grandchild was born and one for each birthday. (Sorry for the glare on the glossy photo.)
Paper from Canvas HomeBasics, DCWV & MME. Stamps: May09, July09 & Jan10 Unity KsOTM. Palette burnt umber ink, Prima flowers, stash buttons, Creative Hands tulip. Used Martha's edge punch.
Thanks for stopping by and have a most blessed celebration of Resurrection Weekend!
Hop on over to Jazzy's Color Your Imagination to check out her adorable Gumball card!
