Butterfly Birthday for Etsy-Inpired & CPCM

This Butterfly Birthday card is for my oldest grand daughter who will be three on Saturday. I asked her what she wanted on her card and she chose a butterfly so it fits in well with these two challenges. The first one is this week's Etsy-Inspired challenge to get an inspiration from the potatopatch.
I picked this adorable butterfly onesie. The second challenge is Fun on Friday from Cindy at Christian Paper Crafts Magazine. This challenge is to use a butterfly.

Stamps: Clear Expressions Happy; all the rest are Unity: May KOM birthday; June KOM branch; flower and simply adorable.
Ink: Stampabilities; Martha Stewart markers sepia & evergreen
I paper pieced the flowers and leaves.

Happy Father's Day to my dad!

I used the sketch from Patter's Triple the Sketch blog for inspiration. It turned out to be something I was very happy with. The best part was my dad's comment when he opened it..."this one is a keeper!" The picture is my family in 1966!! The stickers were part of some goodies I won from Kerry awhile back. HHN09 The God Who Sees

This is my page for the HHN09 study on The God Who Sees us everywhere. He is with us to the end of the age as He promises in the New Testament. He sees us in our struggles, our pain, our joy, and He sees inside us, where it really matters. He sees our sins and He sees us as His righteous children when we allow Jesus' blood to cover our sins. The paths our lives take never surprises Him, He knows everything about us and loves us anyway!! I added the bird to represent the passage about how God watches over even the birds of the air, reminding us how much more He will care for us.
I used My Mind's Eye paper, Stampabilities (journal oval) and Unity (bird/branch from April KOM) stamps, embellishments include: K & Co. corner RubOns, Tiara stickles on the heart, chipboard heart is Riff Raff Designs, ribbons are Offray and Berwick Industries. The heart charm and jewel brads are from my stash.

HHN09 Shepherd

The Lord IS my Shepherd. I trust Him to lead, guide, care for, and nurture me. My DD who designs was keeping me company today so I had her pick out my colors. We noticed how much of the same colors I always use so I appreciated her input! She gave me the general sketch idea and then did the hand-lettering for me to give it a different look from my other pages. (She also said, "don't tell anyone I am doing this with you!") :) The best blessing? Our three children and ddl also "know His voice"!! HHN09 study is here.

HHN09 Lord, PaperPlay Challenge Week 20

This page is for the Lord study from the His Holy Name challenge. Jesus is Lord. The time will come when all will bow and confess that He is Lord whether they have asked Him to be their Savior or not. For Christians, we need to make Him Lord/Ruler of our whole life and not just "use" Him as a savior to save us from the fires of hell. Yes, He saves us from hell, but He also saves us to something...to love Him, to serve Him and to let others know about Him, to bring God glory, and to spend eternity with Him in heaven!
I used the sketch challenge from PaperPlay for my inspiration.

Triple the Sketch #60 & HHN09 Redeemer

Here is my 6 x 6 for the HHN09 Redeemer challenge. I used a sketch from Triple the Sketch for ideas...modified it quite a bit.

I used the black/white contrast of the word redeemer and the paper behind it to show how Jesus Christ redeemed us from the black-ness of our sin to His pure white righteousness. The tag in the upper right corner says "It happened one day", thought that tied in with the fact that historically, Jesus did die for us on that certain Passover Day many years ago. I free-handed the cloud around that part of the verse and as I was putting it together, thought about the darkness that occurred on the afternoon that Jesus died. The sun and star represent that we can live in the light once our sins are forgiven. If you look closely at the background paper you can see the word "grace" which is what God's gift of Jesus' sacrifice is to us.

What is my response? As Patter mentioned in her HHN study post, do I live like I am redeemed? Do I understand the huge price that was paid so that I can be right with God by having my sins paid for through Jesus' death on the cross? Out of love and gratitude, do I live in a way that will show others that I am a new creature? Lots to consider!!

Paper: Teri Martin Creative Imaginations Grace, the Paper Studio textured cardstock
Embellishments: daisy d's cardstock stickers, Riff Raff Designs star, Basic Grey brads. Heart and letters from my stash.
Unity's Something Within cross stamp
Prismacolor violet pencil and blender

CPS Sketch 118

Here is my card for the CPS Card Sketch #118. I used My Mind's Eye Simply Delightful and Bohemia papers, Offray ribbon. The stamps are: Stampabilities Happy Birthday, Unity's butterfly, and Autumn Leaves flower spray. I embossed the butterfly with Ranger clear embossing powder, colored the flower spray with Prismacolor pencils, used Scotch PopUps and Stickles.
Here is a better view of my card at SCS:

Happy Birthday, Kelly

For this card I used Unity's "celebrate" stamp, Martha Stewart lace edge punch, Offray ribbon, Bazzill Basics Feather Boa paper. I'm not sure what the dessert stamps and flowered paper are since they were part of the goodies I won from Two Scoops Rice awhile ago.
I cased it from "Sprinkled With Fun", p. 20, in the July CardMaker magazine.

TOO Busy!,

Sorry I haven't been posting lately. We farm so May is consumed with getting the corn and soybeans planted, not to mention my garden and working in the flower beds and a huge lawn to mow. Throw on top a long drawn out home redo and a visit from "the kids" and grandkids....no extra time for stamping lately! I'll be back one of these days. Till then......
